Gold Pentax

I have no other information about this other than it seems to be plated in gold and some type of exotic leather. Talk about gaudy but it probably is worth a pretty penny.

The Mudproof Camera: Pentax Optio WG-2

Wait a minute, are you sure they said mudproof?

No, I didn’t Photoshop this, I promise. Check it out here

This could be under the Photoshop Follies column.

I bet you they were all thinking it when the shoot was going on, but no one said anything. Maybe the guy doing the post processing did this intentionally.

No, it’s definitely Mud! Trust us, we took mud shots *giggles like a school girl*

BTS: Joel Grimes and Medium Format

Joel Grimes moves over to the Pentax 645D Medium Format DSLR in this behind the scenes shoot.

A couple weeks ago my long time friend Kerrick James dropped by my studio with Pentax’s latest 645D medium format DSLR. Kerrick let me take a few test shots with it of Lauren. The raw images looked amazing and now I’m wishing I had my friend around more often. Later I got the 5d mk II out with my trusted 50mm 1.4 and 24-105mm Canon Lenses. Lauren is a great subject and I always enjoy having her in the studio.

If you’re done with that Joel, I’ll take it off your hands!

We never thought we’d say it, but someone finally found a DSLR that makes Pentax’s limited edition models look bland. Erle Kaasik was walking on a sidewalk in Seattle when she walked past a woman using this eye-popping Canon DSLR and 28-135mm lens that a local artist had decorated. It looks like someone mistook the camera for a cupcake or something.
