American Scream - The Guys Who Officially Win At Halloween

They dedicate their entire year to Halloween. This cool trailer gives you a peak about the depths at which they go to unite a neighborhood once a year.

It’s not your run of the mill, let’s go to Wal-Mart and grab some fake cobweb spray and throw up some spooky ghosts to get festive. No. These guys are absolute artists. They’re directors. They’re DIY masterminds. The film is directed by Michael Paul Stephenson and will premier on Chiller on October 28th. I’m going to watch it and pretend I live in the same neighborhood as these guys.

$5 Fog Machine Replacement

As Halloween is right around the corner, what better way to spruce up your party, front door for trick-or-treaters, or anything else by creating this $5 fog machine!

A little bit of glycerin and distilled water and you get a fantastic and easy to make fog machine that can fill a ton of space in an instant!

Not to mention, it’s also great for photoshoots when you couple it with a light fan.

I would, however, be careful, there are some comments in youtube that express that the fog could be flammable.

caution the fog is highly flamable lol i nearly burned down my house trying it out for a test run. my candle ran out and a went to light it under my tray and the entire tray went on fire and i had to pour water on it

So have fun, and be safe!

Your Pumpkin Sucks

This year, just skip the pumpkin carving. That’s what I said after seeing the work of Ray Villafane. This video showcases a world record.

This carving was created in NYC by utilizing a 1,693lb pumpkin for the Zombies (Zombkins) that are crawling out of the new Worlds Record pumpkin that weighed a whopping 1,818.5lbs. It took me about 15 hours to carve.

Here’s another one of his creations, this time with animatronic eyes

Thanks Ray! This Halloween, I will look at every other pumpkin with a smug look on my face followed by a, “Meh, seen better.”

Check out Ray in action:

With Halloween fast approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to show you some of the best Halloween masks I have ever seen.

A couple of years ago, I came across http://www.spfxmasks.com/.

Essentially, they are ultra-realistic silicone masks that mold to your face after you put it on. Yes, that’s right, it forms right around your face so it replicates your movements!

How real is it?

Well, take a look:

That’s right, so realistic that it even fooled immigration at the airport!

People also use them to pull of pranks with (you can see some here (link)).

Unfortunately, they are so real that people also use them for bank robberies and other terrible things.

More stupid people abusing the mask.

Aside from that, it gets better. I have wanted a mask from spfxmasks for a long time for Halloween, until I recently stumbled upon an even better creator.

Check out:

http://compositeeffects.com/

What’s amazing about these guys, is that they also create very special, one time release, custom masks! He takes special requests and puts them up for sale at the beginning of the month. Check out a few of their prior creations below:

(beetlejuice)

(darth maul)

(voldermort)

(swamp thing)

(zombie)

And here are the regular ones that are on sale:

They even have an option to buy gloves with the corresponding mask so you can make your own customized costume. So if you buy a pighead costume, you get authentic pig hooves, ha!

Sounds expensive, but you’re guaranteed to win a few costume contests and get your money back in one Halloween, especially when you pair up the masks and gloves with a custom outfit.

As you can clearly see, the guys at Composite Effects do some amazing work, the artistry is top notch and so is the end effect.

If you decide to ever buy one, be sure to inquire about getting it before Halloween due to the high demand I am sure they are getting. Otherwise you may not get one in time.

Hope you enjoyed these, feel free to let us know what you think about them below in our comment section!
